The National Auctioneers Association created the Benefit Auction Specialist (BAS) professional designation to provide Auctioneers with advanced training in planning and conducting successful benefit auctions, as well as techniques to establish a successful and profitable benefit auction business. BAS students are taught how to market themselves to prospective clients, aid clients in coordinating a well-planned auction, market the auction and create a fun and exciting event that generates more revenue for clients and auction businesses.
   
 
The Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI) is an educational program completed over a three-year period (CAI I, CAI II and CAI III). The course is taught each March at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana when CAI students network with fellow auctioneers over a week long training class that is regarded as the highest echelon of auction education. Darron Meares, CAI 2008, is an instructor in the program and has been teaching since his graduation - he teaches Advanced Technology. He is also the first-ever recipient of the Pat Massart Leadership Award at CAI.
   
 
The Georgia Auctioneers Association is a strong trade association of professionals who have organized to promote and advance the auction profession.
   
 
The National Auctioneers Association created the Master Personal Property Appraiser (MPPA) professional designation to provide GPPA Auctioneers with advanced training in appraisals. Only GPPA designees can apply for the MPPA designation. Candidates are instructed on how to conduct and complete compliant appraisals. MPPA candidates can specialize in one or more of the following areas: antiques and estate, industrial machinery and equipment, construction and agricultural equipment, or small business valuations.

Headquartered in Overland Park, Kan., the NAA represents the interests of thousands of auctioneers in the U.S., Canada and across the world.
   
 
The Auctioneers Association of North Carolina is the organization for the professional auctioneer who performs auctions in the State of North Carolina. It was established to allow a medium in which the professional auctioneer can stay abreast of the latest auction procedures, education, license law changes and other events that would effect the auction profession.
   
 
The South Carolina Auctioneers Association exists to promote the auction method of marketing through professional and ethical auctioneering practices in the state of South Carolina. Membership is open to auctioneers, auction companies, and associates with an interest in this age-old method of marketing.
